Worst part- CT showed bulging discs, and multiple fibroids, blood and bacteria in my urine, esophagitis and not one single word to me! No antibiotics nothing!!!! Went in for a second opinion about possible interactions between cholesterol medications I had been prescribed by my PCP. They attached electrodes to me for less than a 1 minute and the Dr looked at the results for perhaps a minute or two. Thought I was having a heart attack, went to ER. Had I had insurance, it would have been probably billed at a fraction of what I am asked to pay.
People in the medical field are supposed to be caring and conscientious. So what is the logic behind charging individuals multiples of what a corporation is charged? I needed a EKG before I had a outpatient surgery. I didn't recognize the first place listed and decided to go with the Hospital. I'm guessing had I picked the first place it would have been cheaper since it wasn't a Hospital. Blue Cross insurance. This is theft to me. I have been ripped off. My daughter was admitted to the emergency room at Lewisdale hospital and had an electrocardiogram tracing and the charge to my insurance was 4, My cost is 2, This amount is outrageous.
Assumed EKG was covered with cardiology visit. No one mentioned EKG would have separate charges. It was done like routine by a medical assistant along with my BP and HR within 2 minutes. I will check on cost when I go in for my annual physical. Urgent care. Paying cash. My insurance sucks, so I didn't use it. Cash is better if you want a real price quoted before a procedure. I went in for what I thought was going to be my no cost annual checkup or Preventative Screening.
I did not ask for it. I am still finding out why is was given if they knew it was not part of the ACA and the Insurance would not pay. I had an annual physical in my Dr. I did not have any symtoms but the Dr. My Insurance rejected it saying it was not a covered service for the annual physical. On this page. About ECG test An electrocardiogram ECG is a medical test that detects cardiac heart abnormalities by measuring the electrical activity generated by the heart as it contracts. They may also recommend an ECG if a person is experiencing symptoms such as: chest pain shortness of breath dizziness fainting, or fast or irregular heartbeats palpitations.
No movement is allowed during the test, as electrical impulses generated by other muscles may interfere with those generated by your heart. You are free to move around normally while the monitor is attached. This type of ECG is used for people whose symptoms are intermittent stop-start and may not show up on a resting ECG, and for people recovering from heart attack to ensure that their heart is functioning properly. You record your symptoms in a diary, and note when they occur so that your own experience can be compared with the ECG exercise stress test EST — this test is used to record your ECG while you ride on an exercise bike or walk on a treadmill.
This type of ECG takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete. Immediately after an ECG procedure When the procedure is completed, the electrodes are removed.
