But With a name like Evora , you'll have already guessed how much power it has. From now on, all Lotuses will have the power figure in their names. The Evora represents rather more than just a powertrain tweak for Lotus's two-plus-just-about-two if you spec the optional rear seats, that is.
That, in combination with that extra power and new downforce-generating front end and triple-element rear wing, helps the Evora lap Lotus's Hethel test track six seconds quicker than that Evora S. That's quite a gain. A six-speed auto is optional. Lotus reckons it's carved a little more comfort within the Evora's cockpit, too, redesigning the bonded aluminium chassis with narrower sills to make ingress and egress less arduous.
This Lotus hypercar is able to travel up to miles between charges. The Lotus Evija seats two passengers, and its cabin is accessed via a pair of dihedral doors. These doors do without handles to preserve the car's clean, sculptural aesthetic, and they're operated using the key fob. Once you've entered the car, the doors can be closed using a switch on the overhead console.
The Evija's electrically adjustable front seats feature a carbon-fiber shell and thick pads swathed in microfiber. The driver can manually adjust the tilt and length of the steering column, and there are two bespoke storage spaces placed close to the occupants' hip points.
The list of standard interior amenities includes climate control and three-point seatbelts, with four-point harnesses offered as optional equipment. Overall, the Evija's cabin has a look that's somehow both retro and modern.
Lotus says certain design elements were inspired by the company's racing cars of the s and '60s. All Evija hypercars come with tech features such as Bluetooth connectivity and an infotainment system. In front of the steering wheel, there's a digital display that provides the driver with pertinent information like battery charge and remaining range. This is the car's only screen. The top speed is a little lower than the manual, though: mph.
Lotus fits standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, plus Eibach ultra-light, low-sideload springs and Bilstein dampers. Four-piston AP racing calipers and lightweight two-piece cross-drilled brake discs are also fitted. The interior is fully trimmed in Alcantara, with contrast stitching: leather is an option. Touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sat nav, Bluetooth and reverse parking camera are also standard.
I would be interested in a Lotus Evora GT. For instance, I see two front ends: one appears similar to the Elise, ad the other has the ugly Square nose. In one review, it shows the old rear end but other pictures of the new interior. In yet another site, the configurator allows only the choice of the old colours. I thought there are some new colours? That is the limit of the configurator.
