How are players eliminated? A player is eliminated in one of a number of ways: A ball is thrown and hits an opposition player anywhere on their body.

All teams consenting to play a legal game with less than the allowed minimum waive their right to a forfeit win. A team needs a minimum of 5 regular players in order to avoid a forfeit.

A team with 4 players or less can be forced to forfeit at the choice of their opposition. A team with 5 players can pick up additional players during group stages of the season in order to avoid a forfeit and play a competitive game. They may throw out of bounds balls back to their teammates, but not at the opposing team. They must not re-enter the court for any reason, including attempting to interfere with balls on the court. The ball is dead as soon as it hits the floor, walls, ceiling, another ball, or the referee.

If the ball hits a second player it becomes dead and the first player hit is out. If the ball is caught, the catch does not count. Teams are not allowed to stall with the ball. All balls need to be thrown within 15 seconds. If a team consistently ignores this rule, the player that is stalling will be removed. If a player catches a ball, one eliminated team-mate can re-enter the game. This means that the first player to be eliminated should be the first player to re-enter the game if a ball is caught.

This person is the only player who can communicate with the referee. Objective: Eliminate all opposing players by getting them "out. Have more active on court players when time is up, than your opponent.

Rules Games will be played on a standard sized basketball or volleyball court. Players must start behind their own baseline before the start of play. Anyone can possess and throw any of the six balls that are in play. Teams and players are confined to the centerline, sidelines and end line of the basketball court area.

Players may intentionally leave the playing area on their own side of the playing floor to retrieve a ball. If a player goes out of bounds to avoid getting out, they will be called out.

The centerline is the offside line. When throwing the ball, a player must not touch the line when throwing and including follow through. If the match is tied at the end of 7 minutes, the opposing white line used for volleyball becomes the offside line for sudden death. Players will be called out if a thrown ball, not a kicked ball, hits them on the fly. If a player unintentionally or intentionally throws a ball and the ball hits an opposing player in the head the player who threw the ball is out.

If a player ducks or is on the ground and is hit in the head, the player hit will be called out. Balls must be thrown below the shoulders. Players will be called out if a ball they throw is caught on the fly. Deflections off the floor or the official do not count as an out if caught. Deflections off of a wall, court dividers, rafters, bleachers, and hoop do not count as an out if caught. Deflections off a teammate do count, and both players are out. Deflections off of a player that then hit the wall result in the defending player out regardless if the ball is caught or not.

The ball is dead as if it hit the floor once it hits the wall. If a ball hits another ball, which a player has in their possession, it does not make either player out. If the ball is dropped as a result of contact from the thrown ball, then the player who drops the ball is out.

If it is when the last point ends, the game ends there. When the given time has run out the game in progress will be ended immediately. The remaining players on both sides of the court will be tallied and factored into the final score.

During the regular season ties will be accepted. Each team will be allowed one 1 30 second timeout per match. At this time a team may substitute players into the game. If the offending team has not made a legitimate throw, the referee will count down from 5 seconds. Play will resume once the non-offending team has possession of all the balls. Uniforms are considered part of a player's body. If the uniform is hit you are out. Thus baggy clothing can be a disadvantage. The defender may block a live ball with another ball.

That ball is still a live ball however, until it hits the floor, wall or ceiling. If a blocking ball is dropped as a result of contact from a live ball, then the player who drops the ball is out. A player shall not leave the playing field to avoid being hit or in an attempt to catch a ball. The player violating this rule will be considered out.

Unsportsmanlike conduct intentional head shot, explicit language, or badgering the referee… will result in immediate ejection from the game, and one less starting player for any further games in the match. In the case of a headshot the thrower will be out.

Players may not drop their blocking Dodgeball for any reason; even if you deflect a ball into the air and set your blocking ball down, you will be called out.
